I started this business by collecting and selling antique linens. I had many beautiful pieces that became extras and I could not bear the thought of throwing them away. I started making clothing out of these leftover pieces. I received such an overwhelming response that I decided to focus on my clothing. Although I still have a weakness for dabbling in antique linens, I very much love sewing and creating.
While growing up in the deep south I learned to sew under my Grandmother's watchful eye. This beautiful and extraordinary lady taught me embroidery, needle arts, creativity and how to use my imagination and my hands to make art come alive. I share this with you through Bayou Vintage.
I am a chenille-NUT. My affection for this wonderful fabric is heavily reflected in my clothing lines. I am so excited to offer this one of a kind uniquity to you, my customer. You will see that I list lots of chenille. Vintage chenille-made from those fabulous old bedspreads that look like a perfectly iced cake.
